Sucks to Be You if You Didn't See These Movies
Now that 2004 has drawn to a close, I figured it'd be a good idea to make up a list of my picks for the top ten movies of the year. Okay, so I stole the idea from Ebert and Roeper. Sue me.
I went through a list of every movie released in 2004 to make sure I wasn't forgetting any, and chose my top ten mostly from gut instinct, though there was some pondering and consideration involved. Bearing in mind all the great movies from 2004 which I haven't yet gotten the chance to watch (like Hero and Million Dollar Baby), this is a rough and largely incomplete list, but nonetheless, here you are:
- Garden State
- Kill Bill, Vol. 2
- Collateral
- Ray
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
- Shaun of the Dead
- Spider-Man 2
- The Bourne Supremacy
- Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
- The Village
Yes, that's right. I still think The Village was a damn good movie. A few honorable mentions off the top of my head are Finding Neverland, I ♥ Huckabees and Team America: World Police. (Yep, that's not a typo. I'm talking about the puppet movie. It was good, damn you. Go see it.)
Later on (tomorrow, perhaps?) I will try to clean up this list a little and include a mini-review of each film explaining why it made my top ten. Until then, I must sleep.
